Founded in 2003 by Mr. Basil Al Salem, Gastronomica has emerged as a leading restaurant operator dedicated to developing unique upscale dining concepts across the GCC region. It operates 12 popular restaurants distinguished for their quality food service, and delivery of a Total Dining Experience, which focuses on awakening the five senses to create a long-lasting positive impact.

Basil Al Salem

Basil Al Salem is the founding father of Gastronomica; a leading award-winning restaurant operator in the Middle East, with a solid presence all the GCC countries. Driven by his passion for creativity and creating unique, Total Dining Experiences, Al Salem has led the formation of every Gastronomica concept.

As a dynamic international entrepreneur with vast experience in restaurant development and operation, Al Salem possesses a unique skillset in joint venture (JV) agreements coupled with a solid knowledge of restaurant concept development, from interior design and branding, to menu development. Additionally, his profound financial expertise facilitates the financial engineering of restaurants, which adds to the overall success of handled projects.
